Disclaimer: Any payload data shown is based on the information held by DVLA about your particular vehicle. We recommend you locate and check the vehicle weight plate to ensure the payload as well as axle weights will suit the load you are proposing to carry.

Which size system is correct for my van? The litreage size of the system you should carry will depend on  number of factors. This includes the specification of the system, additional equipment carried, along with any passenger (or in the case of Ford vehicles, driver and passenger) weights.

As rough guide, based on the GrippaMAX Crash tested systems, and without any other equipment taken into consideration:

400 Litre System - 700kg Minimum - (i.e suggested vehicles - variant dependant: VW CADDY, CITREON BERLINGO, PEUGEOT PARTNER, VAUXHALL/OPEL COMBI, FORD TRANSIT CONNECT, Merecedes Citan, Nissan NV200 etc)

500 Litre System - 800kg Minimum -  (i.e suggested vehicles - variant dependant: CITREON BERLINGO L2 850, PEUGEOT PARTNER L2 850, VAUXHALL/OPEL COMBI H/P, FORD TRANSIT CONNECT T220 or ABOVE, VAUXHALL VIVARO, RENAULT TRAFIC, CITREON EXPERT, TOYOTA PROACE, PEUGEOT DISPATCH, MERECEDES VITO etc)

650 Litre System - 950kg Minimum - (i.e suggested vehicles - variant dependant:  FORD TRANSIT CUSTOM, VW TRANSPORTER, CITREON EXPERT, PEUGEOT DISPATCH , VAUXHALL/OPEL VIVARO, FORD TRANSIT CONNECT L2 LWB HIGH PAYLOAD, MERECEDES VITO, VAUXHALL COMBI LWB H/P, RENAULT TRAFIC, etc)

850 Litre System - 1200kg Minimum  (i.e suggested vehicles - variant dependant: FORD TRANSIT CUSTOM T340, FORD TRANSIT JUMBO, VW T32 TRANSPORTER, RENAULT TRAFIC LWB, VAUXHALL VIVARO LWB, PEUGEOT DISPATCH HIGH PAYLOAD, CITREON EXPERT HIGH PAYLOAD, MERECEDES SPRINTER, etc)

1000 Litre System - 1350kg Minimum   (i.e suggested vehicles - variant dependant: FORD TRANSIT JUMBO, PEUGEOT DISPATCH HIGH PAYLOAD, CITREON EXPERT HIGH PAYLOAD, MERECEDES SPRINTER, VAUXHALL MOVANO, RENAULT DUCATI etc)

 Please note the above is only a guide - and each individual vehicle should be checked very carefully to ensure the correct model variant has been chosen so as to carry the weight of the system you wise to carry. Additional equipment, accessories added to the vehicle, additional upgrades added to the actual system, and the amount of passengers carried will make a difference to which vehicle/system you wish to purchase.
