System Specification & Glossary

Overview

The GrippaRinse system is a forecourt rinse installation designed to produce and deliver purified water for vehicle presentation maintenance.

Each installation consists of the following primary components.

GrippaRinse System Glossary

Core Components

• 2000 Litre Water Storage Tank

Stores purified water ready for forecourt use before it is delivered through the pressure washer system.

• Reverse Osmosis & Deionisation (RODI) Purification System

Multi-stage water purification process that removes dissolved minerals and impurities from incoming mains water to produce purified water suitable for spot-free rinsing.

• Electric Pressure Washer

Pressurises the purified water and delivers it through the hose and lance assembly.

• 100 Metre Hose Reel

Primary hose system used to deliver purified water across the forecourt.

• 30 Metre Extension Hose

Additional hose used to extend the reach of the system where required.

• Spray Lance & Trigger Gun

Operator tool used to apply purified water to vehicle surfaces.

• GRP Dual-Compartment Enclosure

Fibreglass housing that protects system components and separates operator access from service equipment.

• Valet Box (Operator Access)

Front compartment containing the hose reel, controls, hose and lance used by forecourt staff.

• Service Compartment (Restricted Access)

Rear compartment containing pumps, purification equipment, filtration components, sensors and system controls. Access is restricted to authorised personnel.

• Internal Frost Protection Heaters

Electric heaters installed within the enclosure to reduce the risk of freezing in cold weather.

(The system does not produce heated water.)

Water & Purification Terms

• Pure Water

Water processed through the purification system to achieve 0ppm Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). This allows water to dry without leaving mineral marks.

• Dirty Water

Water that has passed through the purification system but contains elevated TDS levels (typically above 10ppm) due to exhausted resin, filters or membranes. This water may leave marks when drying.

• Waste Water

Water discharged to the drainage line during the purification process while the system is producing purified water.

• TDS (Total Dissolved Solids)

Measurement of dissolved minerals within water. Lower TDS indicates purer water.

Filtration Components

• Resin (Deionisation Media)

Mixed-bed ion exchange media used to remove remaining dissolved minerals from water after reverse osmosis filtration.

• Pre-Filters

Sediment or carbon filters used to remove contaminants and protect the purification system.

• RO Membrane

Reverse osmosis filtration element that removes the majority of dissolved solids before final purification.

System Controls & Safety

• Pure Water Monitor / Shutdown System

Electronic monitoring device that shuts down the system if water purity falls outside acceptable levels.

• ARC – Automated Reel Control

Electronic system controlling the automatic rewind and operation of the hose reel.

• Frost Protection System

Integrated heater system designed to reduce the risk of freezing within the enclosure.

System Infrastructure

• Customer Electrical Supply (Mains Power)

The electrical power supply provided by the site to operate the GrippaRinse system.

• Provider Electrical System

Internal electrical components within the GrippaRinse unit including pumps, controls, and monitoring systems.

• Customer Water Supply (Mains Water)

The incoming water supply feeding the purification system.

• Drainage Connection

Site drainage infrastructure used to remove waste water produced during purification.

Service & Maintenance Terms

• Service Visit

A scheduled engineer attendance to inspect, maintain and service the system.

• Consumables

Components such as resin, filters and membranes that are replaced periodically as part of system maintenance.

• Wear & Tear Components

Items subject to gradual degradation through normal use, such as seals, hoses and fittings.

System Purpose

The GrippaRinse system is designed to:

• Produce purified water

• Maintain vehicle presentation

• Enable touch-free forecourt rinsing

• Deliver drip-dry results without towel drying

It is not a full vehicle wash system
